Dear readers,
Let's dive right into this month's empty products and find out how I liked them.
Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde Purple Rice from Laos Gentle Shower Cream -> 1.60€
The scent was awfully sweet and weird so gave it to the hubby ;) He doesn't care very much as long as it cleanses so he's the one who used it all up. It's a creamy moisturizing texture but I couldn't stand the smell. I just looked it up on their website but they don't sell it in this scent anymore, I suppose nobody liked it either.
Philip B Peppermint & Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo -> sample
Another product that the hubby ended up using. I still don't understand what all the fuss is about with people liking minty skincare products. I just hate it, I don't want to have a tingly sensation on my lips or, in this case, on my scalp. First time I used this it stung my eyes like crazy and left me blind for a few hours. No thank you, although it was a freebie -> read my haul post here, I just couldn't bear to use it a second time.
BBSeaweed fresh mask by Lush Cosmetics -> 9.25€
This is the first face mask by Lush that I've tried and I especially liked the fact that you need to keep this in the refrigerator. That way it has a cooling effect when you apply it to the face. I found it left my skin very glowy and soft so I'll definitely be repurchasing this again in the future. First I'll need to use up a few other masks I'm trying out.
Garnier body tonic roll-on anti-cellulite gel -> around 10€
It's a very light and watery formula but I didn't like the roll-on applicator and I didn't feel it helped with smoothing out my skin so I'll keep to their other formulation that comes in a plain tube. There's no sign of this product on their website anymore so I suppose it hasn't been a big hit among customers.
This serum I got on recommendation of Amelia Liana. I saw a video back in February, I think, where she'd got this serum from the high street and she liked it a lot. It's a very lightweight formula, it's not overly scented and it sinks into the skin like water. To me, having mature skin, it's just a bit too lightweight. I prefer using more dense serums, if you know what I mean. Although I have very oily skin I'd rather use serums with some anti-ageing properties. This one would be better suited for ladies in their 20's or early 30's.
Neutrogena hydrating feet balm -> around 7€
My feet and my hands are the only places where I have dry skin. During the summer my heels look like the sahara desert, all cracked and dry. I got this pot from my mom (she didn't give it to me, I just grabbed it from her place without her noticing, she never does) and it has last me for ages. The formula is a very thick kind of paste, you need the tiniest amount but no matter how little you use it will leave your feet slick and oily. I don't think you could use this during the day as your shoes would just slip off. I prefer the other formula they have that is sold in a tube, that's the one I'm using now.
For those of you who haven't been following me for a while, this is my favourite dry shampoo. There are some scents I like better than others, not so for the smell per se but I feel the formula is slightly different as well. This one goes into my to repurchase list.
One Essential skin boosting super serum by Dior -> sample
Purchasing sample products may seem like a waste of money to some but to me it's the perfect way to find out if a product works out for me or not. One of my favourite online stores to get a bunch of higher end samples is Strawberrynet.com I just browse through the gift/travel sets section and take my pick. I'm not a great fan of Dior skincare products, I feel that you're only paying for the brand as I've tried many of their products and none of them have wowed me.
Have a great weekend, y'all!
