Very inspiring blogger award

Dear diary,

I was feeling a bit down for the last couple of weeks as I felt I wasn't posting anything interesting enough for readers to stop by and leave me some much needed feedback.

I'm not much of a writer and I don't feel I have anything special that could set me apart from the rest of the beauty bloggers out there, but I put a lot of love and effort in making my blog appealing to my few and loyal followers.

This award came with the best of timing and it really means a lot to me, I feel supported by the blogger community and it has given me renewed energy to keep going and try to improve both my blog and my bloggins skills.

Dear Emily Eairheart from Pumpkin Emily Smiles I cannot thank you enough for thinking of me for this award, I feel truly honoured and happy to be counted among such inspiring bloggers.

1. I cry a lot, I mean a lot... sad movies and even books make me cry
2. I talk to myself, sometimes I become aware that I'm on the street talking to myself and I switch over to singing so that people won't think I'm a weirdo
3. I'm addicted to popcorn, although this has become a recent addiction
4. I only have a highschool diploma, I started Uni but never finished
5. I once won a lottery ticket for over 2000 euro, yay!
6. I have a huge fear of snakes, hairy spiders and scorpions
7. I drink at least 2 litres of water and 1 litre of tea per day

Liebster Award #2 + Giveaway!

Dear diary,

I've been lucky enough to have been nominated for another Liebster Award by Olivia from Olivia's Catastrophe. Although I'm currently out of the run as I've more than 200 followers, I received the nomination before reaching them. If you don't know what a Liebster Award is or want to have a look at the rules you can check my first nomination post here.

Olivia has asked her nominees to tell 11 random facts about themselves plus answering the following questions:

1. If you were a superhero, what would be your power? My favourite superhero is Rogue from X-Men, she can absorb any super power by touch. And yes, I'm very greedy, I want them all.
2. Favourite television show/movie? At the moment: Scandal.
3. Favourite animal and why? Cat, they are so independent.
4. Tea or coffee? Tea, I love coffee but it sometimes gives me a stomach ache.
5. What would be the first thing you'd put on your bucket list if you had one? Taking a trip with the Orient Express.
6. What accent do you have? Do you like it? When I hear myself on a recording I find that I strongly pronounce the S which annoys me as I find it sounds too posh (for Spanish standards).
7. What is your favourite word? Coupon.
8. What do you like/dislike most about your blog? I don't like it being so plain, I need to invest time in making it more appealing.
9. How big is your family? The hubby, the kitty-cat and me.
10. Beach or museum on holidays? I live 25 metres from the beach so I'd say museum.
11. What are your interests? Make up, skin care, reading, watching tv shows, wine tasting, F1 races, traveling and anything food related. I love eating!

Random facts about myself:

1. I started wearing make up at 38, I'm 41 now. It has completely changed my life.
2. I was born in The Netherlands but my English is much better than my Dutch.
3. I don't like children, sorry guys but I really don't.
4. I love going to the beach but don't like to go into the water as I'm afraid of sharks since seeing Jaws. I only go in when the water is crystal clear and you can see the bottom.
5. I only loved silver coloured jewellery before I turned 40, now I'm digging the gold.
6. I started writing my blog to improve my English.
7. I wasn't much of a blog reader before starting to write one. Now I'm subscribed to over 900 blogs and read a minimum of 30 blogs a day.
8. I carry my Sony ereader with me at all times, I don't have a smartphone so I spend my free time reading. I'm currently reading Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch.
9. I'm from Indonesian descent. 
10. I once flew from Alicante (Spain) to London and back with Ryanair for only 12,50€
11. I have a very boring job, but at least I have one, the hubby has been out of work for the longest time and I'm really hoping for this to change this year.

For the few of you who don't know what I'm talking about, the Liebster Award is just a way to get to know fellow bloggers and spread B-love around. The Award is only given to blogs with 200 followers or less. For blogs with a higher volume of followers you have the Best Blogs Awards.

1. Sweet or savory? I like both but when I'm really hungry I only like savory food.
2. DIY or buy? This one is easy, I'm no good at DIY so I'd rather buy or give someone else (my sister in law) the DIY instructions.
3. Do you prefer to bake cakes or cook dinner? I love baking, hate the cooking though.
4. Heels or flat shoes? In summer I almost always wear high heels and in the winter I can't get out of my UGGs.
5. What's your favourite movie? Moulin Rouge, I've watched it over 20 times, never gets boring. 
6. Who is your favourite Disney Princess and why? Princess Jasmine because I have a huge crush on Aladdin.
7. If you could go to any country in the world where would it be? Atlantis
8. City girl or country sweethart? Why? I think I'd like to be a mix of the two, I love the city and all it offers but I'd rather live in a quiet neighbourhood away from the hectic city life.
9. Do you prefer the beach or poolside? Beach, but it has to be like the one in my hometown: with cobblestones, I don't like turning into a scary sand monster, lol.
10. What's your favourite flower? Daisies are my all time favourite, they are the most romantic flower I can think of. When I was little I spent hours and hours plucking the petals to find out if he loved me or not.
11. Clubbing with friends or a quiet night playing boardgames with pals? mmmm I think neither, I'd much rather watch some movies with a huge pile of popcorn.
